The ASME 2012 11th Biennial Conference On Engineering Systems Design And Analysis (ESDA2012), organized by the Ecole Centrale of Nantesin France, will be held at the Nantes International Convention Centre, from July 2-4, 2012.

The ASME ESDA Conferences are held every two years and has become the premier mechanical engineering conference in Europe. ESDA Conferences typically attract well over 400 technical papers and participants from over 40 countries.

The scope of the conference covers a range of major topics in engineering, and related disciplines, ranging from theoretical developments through to industrial applications and case studies.

In preparing the format of the Conference, we want to ensure that sessions related to all important topics are represented at the meeting and therefore we are proposing a number of tracks coordinated by established researchers in the field and covering all the topics concerned by engineering systems design and analysis:

TRK 1: Advanced Computational Mechanics
TRK 2: Advanced Simulation-Based Engineering Sciences
TRK 3: Virtual and Augmented Reality
TRK 4: Applied Solid Mechanics and Material Processing
TRK 5: Applied Fluid Mechanics
TRK 6: Electromechanical Systems and Mechatronics
TRK 7: Advanced Energy Systems
TRK 8: Thermal Engineering
TRK 9: Advanced Composite Materials and Processing
TRK 10: Advanced Manufacturing Processes
TRK 11: Robotics
TRK 12: Dynamical Systems and Control
TRK 13: Information Management & PLM
TRK 14: Human Factors and Cognitive Engineering
TRK 15: Biomedical Engineering
TRK 16: Multiscale Mechanics of Biological Tissues
TRK 17: Sciences, Engineering and Education
TRK 18: Multiphysics
TRK 19: Emerging Technologies for Inspection and Reverse Engineering
TRK 20: Design Engineering
TRK 21: Advanced Materials and Tribology

Because the regional specificities we decided to include in the program three discussion sessions, the first one in aerospace engineering and technology, the second one in automotive engineering and technology and the last one on integrated platforms.

We would like to recommend that you reserve your best papers for submission and review by the international program committee. Please submit your short abstract (400 words maximum) by October 31, 2011. Please do so in accordance with the ESDA2012 publication schedule.

We hope to welcome you in Nantes next year!

Prof. Alain Bernard (Conference Chairman)
Prof. Francisco (Paco) Chinesta (Program Chair)
