2023 - Call For Papers - Dossier 2023/1 (IntellèctuS): Views of property in the rural and urban world

The call for papers of the journal Intellèctus, from "Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro", was extended until March 12th 2023.
Property is a social and historical construct constantly naturalized in discourses propagated in the present. Since its historicity is denied by certain narratives about societies of different eras, this object requires even more problematizations that use the methodologies and theoretical perspectives of historians, as well as other social scientists. Since the 1970s, different studies have denaturalized possessive individualism, as well as problematizing monocultural discourses about property. The dossier in question proposes to include research from the various fields of human sciences about property, in order to corroborate the analyses in which the transformation, in space and/or time, of this person is considered. Articles addressing: proprietary and/or working relationships, whether in rural or urban areas, will be valued; the visions produced by literati, journalist, scientists, educators, jurisconsults, public agents, peasants, members of social movements and other intellectuals about property, whether in the rural or urban world.
