UCAS 2012 - 7th International Workshop on Unique Chips and Systems (UCAS-7)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The 7th International Workshop on Unique Chips and Systems (UCAS-7)
To be held in conjunction with the 18th International Symposium on High Performance Computer Architecture (HPCA-18)
February 26, 2012
New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
** This workshop looks forward to bring together unique research in all areas of chip and system design. We are looking forward to assembling a program with unique technologies, circuits and architectures that your academic or industry team is working on.
** UCAS-7 will have 2 main subcategories (computer architecture and VLSI design) and WIP (Work in Progress) session. Topics of interest include but not limited to unique aspects of:
-VLSI Systems
-Nanoelectronics and Gigascale Systems
-Software Systems
-Grid computing
-Mobile Cloud Computing
-GPU / GPGPU
-Pervasive Computing
-Radiation hardened systems
-Low Power Architectures and Systems
-Low Power Software
-Bioinformatics
-Integrated Security Systems
-Visualization
-Biometrics / Biomedical
-Data hiding
-Blind Signal and Image Processing
-Wireless ad hoc and sensor networks
-Massively parallel architectures
-Multithreaded architectures
-Fine-grain parallel architectures
-Many-core architectures
-Multimedia and Mobile processors
-Performance Evaluation and Workload Characterization
-Unique technologies (quantum well optoelectronic, biologically inspired circuits systems, RF and high frequency, etc.)
** Submission Guideline: Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in standard IEEE two-column format
-Regular sessions: not exceeding 8 pages (6~8 pages)
-WIP (work-in-progress) session: 4 pages
** Submission site: will be available soon
** Important Dates:
-Paper Submission: December 16, 2011
-Notification of Acceptance: January 16, 2012
-Final Version Due: January 23, 2012
** Selected papers from previous UCAS were published in an edited book titled "Unique Chips and Systems". Selected papers from recent UCAS (including UCAS-7) will be published as another edited book. Details of the of the Unique Chips and Systems book can be found here.
** Organizers:
Byeong Kil Lee, University of Texas at San Antonio
Dhireesha Kudithipudi, Rochester Institute of Technology
