Topics/Call fo Papers

The IEEE Technical Committee on Sustainable Systems and Technology (formerly Electronics and the Environment) is pleased to announce the 2012 IEEE International Symposium on Sustainable Systems and Technology from May 16-18, 2012 in Boston, USA. The call for papers (CFP) is available here.

This is the premier event for presenting and learning about environmental and sustainability topics as they pertain to the life cycle of engineered products, their applications, and society.

The 2012 program will feature the latest in environmental design, green manufacturing, emerging technologies, end of life management, information and communication technologies, sustainability education, and policy discussions from world leaders in industry, academia, consulting, and public policy areas. This year permits presenters an unprecedented range of publication options, including abstract-only, free-format full paper, and (as always) the IEEE archived, official conference paper format. A student paper competition will bestow prizes to top papers.

This year's event will also build on a highly successful poster session. The poster session is open to all symposium participants as an opportunity to share scholarly work as a visual display, even in its early stages, and to interact with colleagues and gather feedback. An element of the poster session will be a student poster competition honoring outstanding posters created and presented by students.

Cash prizes are awarded in both competitions after a review of entrants by a panel of judges. All participants in each competition receive gifts (first authors only).

Abstracts are due December 1, 2011. Details for the conference, abstract submission, and student competitions will be available on this website.

We look forward to receiving your paper, and to seeing you in Chicago!

Sincerely,

Thomas P. Seager, Conference Chair

Matthew Eckelman, Lise Laurin, and Chris Yuan, Program Co-Chairs
