IJSS 2013 - Special Issue on Intelligent Multisensory Systems
Topics/Call fo Papers
Special Issue on “Intelligent Multisensory Systems”
International Journal of Systems Science (JCR 0.948)
Motivation and Background
Multi-sensory Systems combine information from different sensors to build knowledge that can be used to make decisions, recognize situations, etc. They are being applied in wide variety of scenarios, such as:
The monitoring and surveillance of physical environments for the recognition of situations, activities and interactions among the different participating agents.
The monitoring of network and/or system activities for malicious activities or policy violations that must be detected, notified and solved.
The management of context-aware information in ambient intelligent environments.
Important solutions for the development of these systems come from the Artificial Intelligence area in the form of multi-agents, evolutionary computation, Bayesian networks and so on.
Topics of Interest
The topics covered will include (but not limited to) the following:
Development of Multi-sensory Systems for intelligent monitoring and activity interpretation by means of:
Models and processes
Tools and platforms
Agent societies and social networks
Human agent interaction, user interfaces
Ontologies and semantic technologies
Evolutionary computation
Bayesian networks
Neural networks
Adaptation, learning and personalization of intelligent monitoring and activity interpretation using multisensory systems.
Industrial experiences about multisensory intelligent monitoring and activity interpretation using multisensory systems.
Submission and Review Process
Potential authors should submit their full paper through the ScholarOne Manuscripts system . Authors should indicate that their manuscript is being submitted to the Special Issue on Intelligent Multisensory Systems. After submission, the authors must provide the Guest Editors with the reference number of the paper.
Submitted papers must be written in English and describe original research, which is not published nor currently under review by other journals or conferences. Author guidelines can be found at International Journal of Systems Science. For more information, please contact the Guest-Editors (contact details below).
All articles selected for publication will be refereed by at least three reviewers knowledgeable in the topic. At least two reviewers must recommend eventual publication for an article to be accepted.
Important Dates:
21/09/2012 Papers submission
20/12/2012 Preliminary notification
31/01/2013 Submission of the Revised Manuscripts
31/03/2013 Final notification
