The global electrical energy consumption is steadily rising and consequently there is a necessity to increase the power generation capacity. A significant percentage of the required capacity addition has to be from renewable energy sources for sustainability. Renewable energy systems are presently undergoing rapid changes in technology. Renewable energy sources will be hooked into electrical energy networks using power electronics, and power transmission and distribution will become more reliant on power electronics to efficiently control and regulate electrical energy flow in an already congested electrical network. Large-scale integration of renewable generation sources into the electric power grid raises critical issues on both sides. Power electronics offers critical functionalities affecting voltage and frequency compatibility, renewable sources for maximized energy yield, and power support to the grid. All forms of transport also are becoming dependant on power electronics to provide more sustainable vehicles.
We invite researchers to contribute original research papers as well as review papers reporting the continuing development efforts in power electronic systems and their control for applications on renewable energy and electric vehicles.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
? Renewable Energy Systems
? Power Quality
? Power Electronics And Drives
? Electrical Machines
? Embedded System Applications in machines And Drives
? FACTS Devices modeling and application
? Smart Grid
