The role of free radicals and natural antioxidants in various aspects of human health , diseases and radiation biology,is being increasingly appreciated in recent times.Great advances have already been made in free radical research involving reactive oxygen and reactive nitrogen species(ROS and RNS) besides antioxidants. Evidences available indicate that ROS and RNS can act as second messengers and influence the signal transduction pathways involved in a variety of physiological processes. The natural antioxidants play an important role in prevention and slowing down of disease progression, such as neurodegenerative disease, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, etc. Recent studies also show that nutraceuticals activate anti-ageing genes. The scientists and pioneering clinicians working in this areas will assemble at Kolkata, India to discuss the latest development in free radical research and radiation biology in the forth coming symposium. The organising committee extends a warm invitation to scientists in Universities, Institutions, Hospitals and Industries, engaged in basic as well as applied research in related areas to participate in the deliberations of the conference. The scientific sessions of the symposium include plenary lectures, invited talks ,selected oral and poster presentation of the contributed papers.
