ISDH 2012 - 9th International Symposium on Display Holography (ISDH 2012)
Topics/Call fo Papers
9th International Symposium on Display Holography (ISDH 2012)
25-29 June 2012
MIT Media Lab, Cambridge Massachusetts USA
e-mail: isdh2012info-AT-media.mit.edu
The first International Symposium on Display Holography (ISDH) was originated by Professor Tung H. Jeong in 1982 at Lake Forest College in Illinois, USA.
ISDH is a unique event. It is not like any other scientific conference. Rather, it is one that synthesizes history, education, art, science, and economic developments that involve holography. A unique purpose of ISDH, beside the obvious exchange of information on display holography, is to engender a sense of community among participants. After the initial attendance of an ISDH, one looks forward to all the future "family reunions." Traditionally ISDH has met outside of major cities in order to maximize interactions and minimize external distractions, but for 2012 ISDH will be taking over the top floor of the new extension of the MIT Media Lab, adjacent to the Charles River and overlooking Boston. We hope you will be able to join us.
Conference Co-Chairs: Michael Bove and Seth Riskin (USA)
Honorary Conference Chairs: Tung H. Jeong (USA), Joseph W. Goodman (USA)
Technical Program Committee: Hans I. Bjelkhagen (UK), Nasser Peyghambarian (USA), Hiroshi Yoshikawa (Japan)

Abstract (300 words) submission deadline: 1 February 2012
Notification of acceptance: 15 March 2012
Final manuscript due date: 1 June 2012
ISDH welcomes papers in the following display-holography-related areas:
Electronic and computer-generated holography
Materials, processes, and techniques
3D perception
Scientific, medical, and engineering holography
Holography and art
Commercial holography
Holography and education
History of holography and 3D imaging
Submission link and more information will be posted here shortly.
Call for Exhibition
Note that there will be two opportunities for ISDH participants to exhibit their work. The MIT Museum will mount an exhibition featuring works of the ISDH community. Running through the Museum’s busiest season, mid-April through August, in a newly renovated gallery of the MIT Museum, the exhibition will present the state of the art, science and engineering of display holography to the MIT community and the world. Submission deadline is 31 October 2011. For more detailed information and submission instructions, please click here.
Additionally, impromptu exhibition space will be provided at the MIT Media Lab during ISDH so that attendees may share their work in a more informal, uncurated setting.
Arts and Exhibition Committee: Betsy Connors-Chen (USA), Melissa Crenshaw (Canada), John Durant (USA), Dieter Jung (Germany), Linda Law (USA), Martin Richardson (UK), Jonathan Ross (UK), Sally Weber (USA)
