Following on from a very successful first meeting, (Georgia Tech, May 2010), the 2nd International Conference on Microneedles will be hosted in Cork (Ireland) during May 13-15th 2012. Showcasing the latest international developments in microneedle technology and applications, the gathering will provide a platform to facilitate interdisciplinary communications and new collaborations for delegates from academic, industrial, pharmaceutical and clinical backgrounds.
Programme
A range of invited and keynote speakers from both business and academia will present technical highlights and review the state-of-the-art in the field. Authors will be given the opportunity to present their latest work in the form of both oral or poster contributions. Attendees will be given ample time during poster sessions and social functions to discuss their work and exchange ideas in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

On Monday evening, a conference gala dinner will be held at a local venue. Delegates are encouraged to attend and may even get an opportunity to try out Irish dancing!
Prior to the conference, a half-day short course on microneedle technology will be held, Early-stage researchers and those new to the field are particularly encouraged to attend.

Scope
The organizers of Microneedles 2012 invite contributions describing the latest scientific, technological and clinical results relating to microneedle technologies. Both oral and poster contributions are invited. Submissions from graduate students and early-stage researchers are particularly welcome. Topics include, but are not restricted to:

Design and technology
Clinical and pre-clinical results
Fabrication and materials
Coatings and formulation
Drug and vaccine delivery
Sensors
Skin biomechanics
Immunology
Packaging and deployment
Regulatory Issues
