We cordially invite you to attend the 22nd International Conference on Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing (FAIM 2012). The conference will be held in Helsinki, the Capital of Finland, and in a Ferry cruising between Helsinki-Stockholm (Sweden)-Helsinki. The conference will be hosted by the Tampere University of Technology, Department of Production Engineering.
The Sunday evening Welcome Reception and Monday morning Keynotes will be held at Scandic Marina Congress Center located in the heart of the city of Helsinki, just across the street from the Viking Line Ferry terminal. Rest of the conference will take place at Viking Line Ferry Cruise between Helsinki-Stockholm-Helsinki.
The theme of the FAIM 2012 is “Competitive and Sustainable Manufacturing and Service Systems and Technologies.” For manufacturing enterprises, the ability to produce and provide products and services that meet the needs of customers in a profitable way has a key role in achieving and realizing competitiveness.
The conference will cover a range of topics including, but not limited to: Manufacturing Systems and Networks; Integrated Product and Production Development; and Manufacturing Technology and Processes. Case studies, conceptual papers, review papers, methodological papers, and quantified analyses as well as multidisciplinary papers on one or more of the above topics are most welcome.
Authors are asked to submit an abstract in English of approximately 300 words. Abstracts will be reviewed and the corresponding authors notified of the outcome. Authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to submit an electronic version of the full paper. All submitted papers will be peer reviewed and the review results will be sent to the corresponding authors. At least one author must register in order to have the paper published in the proceedings. All registration fees will cover breakfasts and lunches on the Ferry, buffet dinner on Monday evening, and the Conference Banquet Dinner on Tuesday evening. Note that the registration fee for all participants also covers the two night accommodation on the Ferry between Monday and Wednesday. For the conference attendees the fee also includes all conference sessions, conference coffee breaks and refreshments, and an electronic version of the conference proceedings.
