Dear Colleagues and Friends,rIt is a real pleasure for me to invite you once again to the 11th International Dead Sea Symposium (IDSS) on Cardiac Arrhythmias and Device Therapy and it 20 Anniversary which will be held Jerusalem, February 26-29, 2012 at the International Convention Center.r20 years ago we started this quest called IDSS with the aim of creating a biannual meeting, point for all involved in the cardiac arrhythmias field worldwide. Over the years the meeting significantly expanded in the number of participants as well as its program and becoming the biggest event of its kind in the Middle East and an acknowledged and prestigious platform for professional development and networking in the field of cardiac arrhythmias. Accordingly the meeting was needed a larger venue and as such the IDSS was transferred from the Dead Sea area to Tel Aviv and now to Jerusalem.rThe committees of the IDSS are working in close collaboration with the most important scientific societies. The International Program Committee is already at work in preparation of a stimulating, multidisciplinary scientific, CME accredited program for professionals in all disciplines dealing with arrhythmia patients and reflecting the advances in the main fields of electrophysiology and pacing.rThe program will include workshops designed for general cardiologists, physicians working in sport medicine and for nurses and technicians working in pacing, EP and cardiac care units. The goal of these specialized and focused workshops is to update practitioners about current state of the art issues and advances in the diagnosis and management of brady- and tachyarrhythmias. Preventive treatment of thrombo-embolic AF complications and advantageous in medical AF treatment will be included in the program. Thanks to the tremendous success of the ECG workshop for cardiology & internal medicine fellows, it will be repeated.rLast but not least, the amazing city of Jerusalem will offer you a unique natural, artistic and historical atmosphere that will certainly encourage socialization and friendship among faculty and delegates. We trust that the scientific level of the program and the extraordinary location of the 11th IDSS will stimulate many to come to Jerusalem and to actively participate in the meeting that has become a pace setting event of arrhythmology worldwide.rSee you in Jerusalem.rShalom,rProf. I.
