ELSM 2011 - The First International Workshop on Enhancing Learning with Social Media (ELSM 2011)
Topics/Call fo Papers
Social computing and multimedia networking infrastructure have changed human behaviour. One typical instance is Education. The impact of distance learning to traditional universities in particular allows educational professionals to rethink about how to efficiently and effectively apply up-to-date computing paradigm and technologies to improve instruction, as well as to encourage students to learn. The use of social media has recently become an emerging issue to be adopted in distance learning, various considerations should be carefully identified from both pedagogical and technological perspectives, to ensure the successful incorporation of these technologies in distance learning.
The First International workshop on Enhancing Learning with Social Media (ELSM 2011) will be held in conjunction with the 10th International Conference on Web-based Learning (ICWL 2011) in Beijing, China, during December 8-10, 2011. The workshop aims at providing a forum to discuss problems, current studies, and solutions on how the social media and corresponding computing technologies are applied to enhance learning paradigm. Researchers are encouraged to share achievements, experiments, and ideas with international participants, and furthermore, look forward to map out the research directions and collaboration in the future.
