2023 3rd International Conference on Robotics and Control Engineering (RobCE 2023) will take place in Nanjing, China during May 12-14, 2023, which is organized by Southeast University, sponsored by Jiangsu Instrument and Control Society, Jiangsu Association of Artificial Intelligence-Technical Committee on Robot, China Instrument and Control Society-Technical Committee on Haptic Sensing and Interaction, School of Automation, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Advanced Robotics Research Institute, supported by Hong Kong Society of Mechanical Engineers(HKSME), media supported by MDPI-Robotics. Focusing on the international research and key application domains of robot and control engineering, around the theme of innovative development of intelligent society, RobCE is going to conduct high level academic communication and display the latest achievements, build the international collaborative innovation platform.
●Publication & Indexing
After a careful reviewing process, all the registered and presented papers will be included in ACM International Conference Proceedings Series (ISBN: 978-1-4503-9811-4), the publisher will submit articles to Engineering Village, Scopus, Web of Science and other databases for review and indexing after publication.
Selected papers with great extension will be recommended to publish in international journals.
The Conference Poreceeding of RobCE 2022/2021 was published in ACM International Conference Proceedings Series and indexed by Ei Compendex, Scopus.

Prof. Valentina Emilia Balas
Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Romania
Valentina E. Balas is currently Full Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Romania. She holds a Ph.D. Cum Laude, in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is author of more than 350 research papers in refereed journals and International Conferences. Her research interests are in Intelligent Systems, Fuzzy Control, Soft Computing, Smart Sensors, Information Fusion, Modeling and Simulation.She is the Editor-in Chief to International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP) and to International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE), member in Editorial Board member of several national and international journals and is evaluator expert for national, international projects and PhD Thesis. Dr. Balas is the director of Intelligent Systems Research Centre in Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad and Director of the Department of International Relations, Programs and Projects in the same university.She served as General Chair of the International Workshop Soft Computing and Applications (SOFA) in nine editions organized in the interval 2005-2020 and held in Romania and Hungary
Prof. Heshen Wang
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Dr. Hesheng Wang received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology. Harbin, China, in 2002, the M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Automation & Computer-Aided Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an Associate Professor in 2009. Currently, he is a Professor of Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He worked as a visiting professor at University of Zurich in Switzerland. His research interests include visual servoing, service robot, robot control and computer vision.
Prof.Jianwei Zhang, Universität Hamburg, Germany
Jianwei Zhang´s research interests include multimodal informatin processing; cognitive sensor fusion; fast learning algorithms; neuro-fuzzy models for sensory-motor control tasks; reinforcement learning of assembly sequences; natural human-robot interaction; self-valuing learning of robot grasping and in-hand manipulation; multimodal learning architecture; experience-based robot learning; coded structured light for 3D modelling; best view algorithm for active robot vision; bio-inspired multimodal control, modular reconfigurable robots; surgical assistant robots; mobile manipulation service robots, etc. In these areas he has published about 500 journal and conference papers, technical reports and four books. He holds 40+ patents on intelligent components and systems. Jianwei Zhang is the coordinator of the DFG/NSFC Transregional Collaborative Research Centre SFB/TRR169 “Crossmodal Learning: Adaptivity, Prediction and Interaction” and several EU robotics projects, including the RACE (Robustness by Autonomous Competence Enhancement) Project which is the first one applying high-level learning, planning and reasoning AI methods in service robots. He has received multiple best paper awards. He is the General Chairs of IEEE MFI 2012, IEEE/RSJ IROS 2015, and the International Symposium of Human-Centered Robotics and Systems 2018.
Prof. Makoto Iwasaki, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan
Prof. Makoto Iwasaki is currently a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Nagoya Institute of Technology. As professional contributions of the IEEE, he has participated in various organizing services, such as, a Co-Editors-in-Chief for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics since 2016, a Vice President for Planning and Development in term of 2018 to 2021, etc. He is IEEE fellow class 2015 for "contributions to fast and precise positioning in motion controller design". He has received a number of awards and honors for his academic contributions, like the Best Paper and Technical Awards of IEE Japan, the Nagamori Award, the Ichimura Prize, and the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Japanese Minister of Education, respectively. He is also a fellow of IEE Japan, and a member of Science Council of Japan. His current research interests are the applications of control theories to linear/nonlinear modeling and precision positioning, through various collaborative research activities with industries.
Prof. Zhengtao Ding, University of Manchester, UK
Zhengtao Ding received B.Eng. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and M.Sc. degree in systems and control, and the Ph.D. degree in control systems from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, Manchester, U.K. After working in Singapore for ten years, he joined the University of Manchester in 2003, where he is currently the Professor of Control Systems and the Head of Control, Robotics and Communication Division. He has authored/co-authored three books, including the book Nonlinear and Adaptive Control Systems (IET, 2013) and has published over 300 research articles. His research interests include nonlinear and adaptive control theory and their applications, more recently network-based control, distributed optimization and distributed learning, with applications to power systems and robotics. Prof. Ding serves/has served as the Editor in Chief of Drones and Autonomous Vehicles, Subject Chef Editor of Nonlinear Control for Frontiers, and Associate Editor for Scientific Reports, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Circuit and Systems II, IEEE Control Systems Letters, Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, Control Theory and Technology, Unmanned Systems and several other journals. He is a member of IEEE Technical Committee on Nonlinear Systems and Control, IEEE Technical Committee on Intelligent Control, and IFAC Technical Committee on Adaptive and Learning Systems. He is a fellow of The Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.
