Overview:
HPSA (Health Professional Shortage Area) geographically defines who can compliantly provide Telemedicine .
This allows patients that otherwise would not have access to specialty care both inpatient and outpatient to receive it.
Distant site providers can receive payment based on Medicare policy and State laws.
Other payers have their own policies. Other codes for asynchronous care will also be discussed including Remote Patient Monitoring and electronic options such as store and forward and email communications.
