STOCK 2011
The 2nd International Workshop on System and Theory of Cognitive Radio Networks
to be held in conjunction with
The 7th International Conference on Mobile Ad-Hoc and Sensor Networks (MSN 2011)
December, 2011 ? Beijing, China
Cognitive radio networks (CRNs) have received significant attention recently as an innovative paradigm for efficient spectrum utilization. Using the cooperation concept for CRNs design, is an emerging network design strategy for future cognitive wireless networks. In cooperative CRNs, individual network nodes can cooperate to find the spectrum resources in a coordinated way. Successful cooperative CRNs can prompt the development of advanced wireless networks to efficiently utilize the valuable spectrum resources. However, the impact and challenges of cooperative CRNs on the cooperative transmissions are not well-understood yet. Some fundamental aspects requiring immediate studies include: theoretical tools to guide the design of cooperative networking systems, effective incentive mechanisms for cooperation in CRNs, new protocol design for cooperative CRNs, and compatible deployment of cooperative CRNs over the existing infrastructure for effective spectrum utilizations. This workshop aims at reporting the state-of-the-art research and development on cooperation in cognitive radio networking. Original, unpublished contributions and invited articles, reflecting various aspects of cooperation in cognitive radio networks are encouraged.
