On behalf of the ISPSD conference committee, it is with great honor and pleasure that I welcome you to the 24th International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices and ICs (ISPSD’12). ISPSD is the premier forum for technical discussion in all areas of power semiconductor devices, power integrated circuits, their hybrid technologies, and applications.

This symposium brings together both industry and academic professionals in the field of power semiconductor devices and circuits. Over the past 20+ years, the ISPSD has grown to become the most important and leading conference related to power devices. Organized annually, it provides a forum for technical discussion and sharing of new research amongst the participants. Following the successful meetings in Hiroshima (2010) and San Diego (2011), the ISPSD conference returns to Europe, and for the first time is held in Bruges, Belgium, between June 4-7, 2012.

Bruges is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, also known as ‘the Venice of the North’. The medieval city is unique: the look and the feel of the Middle Ages still are present in the streets and buildings.Walking along the maze of winding cobbled alleys and romantic canals, you imagine yourself to be in medieval times. With Belgian chocolate, lace and antiques being at the top of the shopping lists of many a visitor, Bruges is also a great place to sample some truly authentic Belgian beer.

The conference venue is the city’s old hospital, dating from the 16th century. It is conveniently located right in the city center, within walking distance from all major hotels and the railway station.

We are all looking forward meeting you in Bruges.

Sincerely,

Peter Moens
