The World Universities 1st Zakat Conference 2011 is organised by Zakat Research Institute of Malaysia (IKaZ), UiTM, Malaysia in collaboration with Faculty of Education & Social Sciences, Universiti Industri Selangor Malaysia, Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Faculty of Syariah & Law, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Forum Zakat Malaysia (FZM), Seketariat Pengurusan Zakat Negeri (SPZN) and will be held at KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA from 22-24 NOVEMBER 2011.
The main theme of the seminar is Zakat Excellence. It aims to provide a platform towards achieving the following objectives:
Provide a platform to gather intellectuals involved in Zakat research.
Improving the network between academicians with international Zakat practitioners.
To identify new research areas of international Zakat.
Enhance contemporary zakat management.
We therefore invite papers for the discussion of the main theme and should be in line with, but not limited to, the following sub-themes:
Zakat Fatwa and zakat Legislature
Management and Administration of Zakat
Collection and Distribution of Zakat
Development of Asnaf Zakat
Policies and Procedures of Zakat
Technology and ICT
Zakat and Poverty
Zakat and Development
Potential of New Resources in Zakat
Awareness and Appreciation of Zakat
The standardization and interpretation of Asnaf
Other topics related to Zakat
Participation is most welcome to all academicians, Zakat activists, researchers, Baitulmal, Zakat centers, government departments, university students and interested individuals. Participation as a presenter is highly encouraged.
