Beijing, with a population of over 21-million residents, is the capital of the People's Republic of China. It is the political, educational and cultural center of the country. Beijing has a lot of historical sites, including seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites-the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs, Zhoukoudian, and parts of the Great Wall and the Grand Canal.
