*** Objective ***
The primary goal of the Indo-Japan conference on Perception and Machine Intelligence
(PerMIn’12) is to address the main issues of theoretical, generic and applied areas of Machine
Intelligence and Perception Engineering, encourage academic and industrial interaction, and
promote collaborative research activities. The conference invites the researchers to participate and
contribute to the international forum for the dissemination and exchange of up-to-date scientific
information on different areas of Machine Intelligence and Perception Engineering through the
following modes of communication: Keynote/Plenary Talk(s), Oral Presentations, and Poster
Presentations.

The conference proceeding will be published from LNCS, Springer.

*** Paper submission ***
Original papers addressing challenging problems in the areas of perception engineering, human
computer interaction (HCI) and machine intelligence are invited including but not just limited to
the following:
1. Pattern recognition and perception
2. Human computer interaction (HCI) techniques and devices
3. Computational theory of perception (CTP)
4. Cognitive systems: Vision and Auditory
5. Perception based E-nose and E-tongue
6. Video abstraction and aesthetics detection
7. Approximate reasoning
8. Behavioral modeling

Papers should be six to eight A4 pages (including figures and tables). Manuscripts must be
prepared with LaTex2e (use Springer class file llncs2e.zip).
