The International Workshop on Advanced Image Technology (IWAIT) is a well-known international workshop that gathers scholars, researchers, practitioners, students, and interested persons in the field of advanced image technology. IWAIT 2012, the 15th in the series that has been held annually since 1998, aims to provide a forum to discuss the latest research, development and applications of image, video, graphics and other related technologies and applications. The technical program will consist of, but not limited to, the following topic of interest:

Image processing: including pattern recognition, image compression, computer graphics, computer vision, image analysis and retrieval, semantic understanding, modeling and representation, content description and indexing.
?
Video technologies: video coding, compression, processing, video quality assessment, scalable video coding, transcoding, denoising, deinterlacing, fast algorithms.
?
Multimedia technologies: content-based multimedia retrieval, cross media indexing, security rights and management, watermarking, authentication, forensic analysis, content management, multimedia communication and networking, streaming, mobile multimedia, QoS (Quality of Service).
?
Virtual Reality / Mixed Reality / Augmented Reality.
?
Applications: Video on Demand, medical application, broadcasting, IPTV, HDTV, user interface, digital library, authoring, e-learning and education, hardware and VLSI, animation and entertainments, personal media, wearable computing, ubiquitous multimedia.
PAPER SUBMISSION
Prospective authors are invited to submit an abstract of no more than one page of A4 size paper in English. If the abstract get accepted, the authors are encouraged to submit original full papers of up to six pages including figures and tables in English. All papers are to be submitted electronically in PDF format. All submissions use the EDAS conference management system.
The papers will be reviewed for technical merit and content. The accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings only if one of the authors is registered for and attending the conference and is presenting the work.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Previous IWAIT conferences have been held annually in Eastern and South Eastern Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology (HCMUT) has the privilege of organizing this prestigious conference for the very first time in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
ORGANIZATION
The conference is organized by the Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology (HCMUT). The conference is held in cooperation with Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers (ITE), and IAIP (Industrial Application of Image Processing) / JSPE, Japan.
