●Speaker
Prof. Julian Scott Yeomans,York University, Canada
Julian Scott Yeomans is a Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at York University’s Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Canada. He holds degrees in management science/information systems, environmental engineering, and statistics. He generally teaches courses on VBA programming, business analytics, and spreadsheet-based decision support systems. He has published 5 books (including 3 on incorporating climate change uncertainties into environmental assessments) and over 125 peer-reviewed, academic journal articles on a wide spectrum of topics. His most recent research has focused on the applications of different combinations of simulation-optimization, machine learning, visual analytics, population-based metaheuristics, and modelling-to-generate-alternatives. Current application areas of these methods include environmental informatics, waste management, empirical finance, and the optimal osmotic dehydration of fruits, vegetables, and fungi.
Dr. David Z. Zhu,University of Alberta, Canada
Dr. David Zhu is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada where he has been a faculty member since 1997. He is a Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Canada’s NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Urban Drainage. His research focuses on sustainable hydropower power and sustainable urban drainage. He has published over two hundred SCI journal papers. Dr. Zhu received a number of national and international awards for his research work: including CSCE Dagenais Award for outstanding contributions in hydrotechnical engineering in Canada, ASCE 2017 Samuel Arnold Greeley Award, and 2018 Karl Emil Hilgard Prize. Dr.
Prof. Yongping Li,Beijing Normal University, China
Yongping Li is a Professor at Beijing Normal University, China. She receives her MSc and PhD Degrees from the University of Regina, Canada. Her research interests involve in energy and environmental systems analysis, environmental pollution control, water resources management, and decision making under uncertainty. Since 2005, Li has led or involved in over 50 energy- and environment-related research projects supported by industrial, governmental and international organizations. She has produced over 320 peer-refereed international journal papers (with an SCI-based H-index of 40 in Science Citation Index under Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science), and supervised over 60 Master/PhD students. She has been continuously selected as a highly cited scholar in the field of “environmental science” (by Elsevier) since 2013. Dr. Li was received a number of awards such as Distinguished Young Scientist Award, New Century Excellent Talents in University, the National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar, the National Award for Youth in Science and Technology, and the National Award for Youth Female Scientist.
Dr. CHEN, Xiaohong,Sun Yat-sen University, China
Dr. Xiaohong Chen is a Professor and the Director of Center for Water Resources & Environment, at Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. He is the President-Elect of the International Commission of Water Quality in the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (ICWQ-IAHS). Vice-president of the Chinese Commission for IAHS. Vice president of Water Resources Society of Guangdong Province, China. He has fulfilled about 300 programs with funds over US$ 25 million, including 4 Key Programs of National Science Foundation of China, e.g., “Quantitative research on variability of hydrological features and the corresponding water resources response in the area of Pearl River Delta”, and “Comprehensive planning of water resources for Guangdong Province”, Key Program of Guangdong Province issued by Water Resources Department of Guangdong Province. He is now in charge of several key research programs with total funds over US$ 4 million, including a National Key R&D Program of China, “Multi-objective Regulation of Water Resources in the Pearl River Basin” with funds of US$2.1 million. He has published 11 books and more than 500 papers in Chinese and English journals. He obtained 11 awards including the first prize of science and technology progress by Ministry of Education of China in 2012 and the first prize of science and technology progress by Guangdong Province in 2017.
