CIMVIP 2011 - 3rd International Workshop on Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Visual Information Processing
Topics/Call fo Papers
The 3rd International Workshop on
Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Visual
Information Processing (CIMVIP’2011)
under the framework of the 11th International Conference on
Intelligent Systems Design and Applications ISDA’11.
(November 22-24, 2011- Córdoba, Spain)
Conference web page: http://www.uco.es/isda2011/
Workshop web page: http://www.uco.es/isda2011/?page_id=116
Organizers: Gerald Schaefer, Yousef Alqasrawi, Daniel Neagu and Peter Cowling
The Workshop on Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Visual Information Processing has already a tradition of collaboration with the International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications (ISDA): it started in 2009 in Pisa and continued in 2010 in Cairo, and provides an excellent forum for researchers and practitioners in Image Processing and Artificial Vision to report progress, exchange ideas and discuss new trends in their field.
The purpose of the third workshop on “Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Visual Information Processing (CIMVIP 2011)” at ISDA 2011 (http://www.uco.es/isda2011/) is to bring together researchers and practitioners with interest in applications of data mining, artificial intelligence and computer vision in processing video and image resources.
The wide spread use of social networks allows people to upload and share their personal images and videos. Low cost storage and image/video capturing devices have led to the availability of huge amounts of multimedia data, such as pictures and video records, which come at the cost of increased pressure to process them. More research needs to be done in terms of processing, analysing, mining, managing and searching multimedia visual data.
We encourage authors to submit original papers as well as preliminary and promising works in the topics of the workshop. We are looking for original and high-quality submissions that address the evolution and recent developments of various multimedia visual information processing methodologies, ranging from fuzzy logic, neural and evolutionary computing, to hybrid soft computing for analysing, organising and retrieving images and videos.
The topics for this workshop include all aspects of applying intelligent techniques to multimedia visual information processing including, but not limited to:
- Machine learning
- Fuzzy logic
- Evolutionary computing
- Bio-inspired computing
- Data mining approaches
- Hybrid intelligent methods
- Intelligent agents
- Rough sets
- Swarm intelligence
in:
- Intelligent content-based image and video retrieval
- Object, image and video classification
- Semantic image analysis
- Object detection and localisation
- Semantic-driven context-aware visual information analysis
- Semantic image segmentations
- Local and global image labelling and annotation
- Multiple cues visual information fusion
- Intelligent similarity methods for image and video retrieval
- Visual feature extraction and description
- Visual information processing
- Mining visual information from online social networks
- Biometrics
- Medical image processing
- Real World Applications
Tentative Dates of Submission and Acceptance
- Submission deadline: May 31, 2011
- Author notification: July 22, 2011
- Camera-ready due: September 16, 2011
- Conference days: November 22 - 24, 2011
SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers through the ISDA2011 web site. Papers should be up to 6 pages long and must be formatted according to the IEEE paper template. The accepted papers will be included in the ISDA Conference Proceedings to be published by Conference Publishing Services. Authors of selected high quality papers may be invited to submit extended versions for review and publication in the special issue of a renowned international journal (to be announced).
Kind regards
Gerald Schaefer, Yousef Alqasrawi, Daniel Neagu and Peter Cowling
