The symposium will focus on the following themes:

Algal Biodiversity and distribution in India
Ecology, Morphology and Life history of Algae
Physiology and Biochemistry of Algae
Algal products of commercial importance, production and utilization
Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals from Algae
Biofertilizers and Biofuels from Algae
Algae in bioremediation of waste water
Fine Chemicals and pigments from algae
Cultivation, harvesting and post harvesting processing of algae

Contributory full length Research papers, Poster papers, Review papers and Abstracts on all topics of algae and algal products will be read, presented and discussed.

Therefore Abstracts of original research work should be sent to the organising committee on or before 30th July 2011. Abstract(s) should not be more than 1 page (A4) containing title, name of author(s), name of the institution, keywords typed in double space on A4 size (210 mm x 297 mm) in MS Word. On the abstract form, the author should indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation. However the scientific committee reserves the right to select it as a poster or oral presentation as considered to be best suited. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Indian Hydrobiology (Freshwater algae) or Seaweed Research and Utilization Journal (Marine Algae).

Sub-headings of Research Paper

Full length papers (not more than 14 typed pages in A4 size) must be divided into following sub-headings :

Title, Author(s) Name with official Address, Abstract, Key Words, Introduction/ Hypothesis, Objectives, Material and Methods / Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and/Recommendations, Acknowledgement (if any) and references. Furthermore, references should be numbered sequentially as 1, 2, 3, etc. in order of their citation in the text.

The style to be used for references is as follows:

Journal articles:

Publication of Papers

Full length papers/Review papers (obtained for Oral or Poster presentation), selected by the screening committee will be published in the Indian Hydrobiology (Freshwater algae) or Seaweed Research and Utilization Journal (Marine Algae).

At least one author for each paper should get registered for conference.

Mode of Submission of Abstracts and Research Papers

(1) All sort of Research Articles (Papers or Abstracts) must be submitted as a hard copy (2 copies) and in a CD (soft copy) in the format mentioned above.
(2) It is mandatory to mention E-mail on your research article, as all correspondence will be performed through it only.
