ISSE 2011 - Second International Workshop on Intelligent Sensors and Smart Environments (ISSE-2011)
Topics/Call fo Papers
2011 International Workshop on Intelligent
Sensors and Smart Environments (ISSE 2011)
in conjunction with
6th International Conference on Broadband and Wireless Computing,
Communication and Applications (BWCCA 2011)
October 26-28, 2011, Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain
Theme
To automatically provide human-centric services, it is desired to build smart envionments for such a purpose. The background system needs to first detect and collect needed information in the environment via various sensors like video cameras, RFIDs, infrared sensors, motion sensors, pressure sensors, and ... etc. The information is then processed for understanding the context and intention of the people in the environment. Finally services are provided in a timely manner. Sensing technology, embedded systems, wireless communications computer vision and intelligent methods are the core to build integrated smart environments. This workshop wishes to attract state-of-the-art solutions and novel attempts in this field.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
- Sensing technologies for smart environments
- Intelligent information processing for smart environments
- Wired/wireless networking for smart environments
- Embedded systems for smart environments
- Context-aware services
- Adaptive and personalized systems
- Human-centric computer interfaces
- Dependable and secure systems and devices
- Ambient/ubiquitous/pervasive computing and intelligence
- Human behavior understanding for smart environments
- Image and video analysis for smart environments
