The 2009 Joint Conferences on Pervasive Computing (JCPC2009) ? U-media2009 & ICPCA2009

Tamkang University, Taiwan, December 3 ? 5, 2009

Pervasive computing envisages a world of communicating miniature devices, sensors and actuators to provide ambient and personalized services. Contemporary ubiquitous devices unleash the boundary of one-to-one human-computer interaction. It has become a de facto style of facilitating social events that participants use several distributed devices through multimodal interaction. How people access multimodal media in different context is an interesting yet challenging problem. Pervasive and Ubi-media Computing, as it is bravely defined, brings together technologies for location/context adaptation, inter-device interaction/reaction, and media/data communication.
This year, we integrate firstly two major international conferences, U-media and ICPCA, which focus on professional Ubiquitous Media Computing and Pervasive Computing issues. Moreover, three workshops, which focus on applications of ubiquitous and pervasive computing, are conjunction with.
The 2009 JCPC will be held at Tamkang University, Tamsui, Taiwan. Tamsui is a beautiful college town 15 miles from the downtown of Taipei. The campus is 10 minutes from the seashore of north Taiwan and about 50 minutes from the well-known Yang-Ming Mountain national part. The campus is within a working distance from the subway station. Commuters from Taipei city can reach the campus either by bus or by subway.
The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE Press with EI Indexed. Best papers will be recommended for publication in special issues of international journals. The detail information is presented on the website of JCPC2009, http://jcpc2009.mine.tku.edu.tw/. The interesting topics are shown on each conference and workshops as follows. Please find one or more suitable conference or workshop to contribute your manuscripts. We expect to see you at Tamkang University in this year.
