Global experiences prompt us to embark on disruptive innovation models to address challenges by creating ‘an Equitable, Sustainable, Quality Healthcare System for Billions of Lives’. Invariably, such models take advantage of the technology to foster an efficient and effective eco-system transforming the healthcare landscape.

There remains a gulf between what is known and what is applied, the so called ‘know- do- gap’. The information and communication technology based knowledge coupling system will develop a ‘know- do- bridge’ and help improve access to information. Healthcare desperately needs a culture of disruptive innovation. In fact the entire business paradigm would immensely benefit from the natural process of disruption. Once business models replace incumbent mindsets, appropriate to the new technologies and markets, there will inevitably be higher quality and more value for everyone.
Collaboration and Convergence will be the next wave of innovation in Indian healthcare. A shift in mindset from competition to collaboration is required.
