It is a great pleasure to invite you to attend an Istanbul Technical University - ITU sponsored 5th International Atmospheric Symposium "Meteorological Disasters" in Istanbul- Turkey; 27-29 April 2011.
Atmospheric phenomena, which constitute research subjects of atmospheric sciences, are influential in nearly every aspects of human life. Atmosphere also plays a significant role on Earth’s equilibrium, which has been formed for million years, that needs to be maintained in order to continue the existence of life on Earth. Moreover, every sector areas such as health, agriculture, transportation, sport, air quality, tourism, etc. need information related to these atmospheric phenomena. Therefore, atmospheric sciences have been developped rapidly due to the extensive research on its inter- and multidisciplinary topics. Consequently, the main goals of this symposium are to determine new developments, to take an envantery on previous studies, and to gather researchers and practitioners.
