Topics/Call fo Papers

For the first Global Implementation Conference, we encourage participants to submit presentations representing their latest data and thinking regarding implementation science, practice, and policy. In addition, the submission review committee encourages submissions of already published data, policy positions, or theories, submissions that present thought provoking information and those that ask questions that will encourage meaningful dialogue. The GIC is the place to help all of us catch up with what is known, and explore the next steps.

The overarching goal for this conference is to engage participants in an interactive dialogue about the state of implementation science as a field and where we need to go from here. To that end, we hope to provide ample opportunity for participants to learn from each other and spark meaningful discussion about implementation. As a result, presentation cluster sessions will be a departure from the more traditional conference format in which presenters either present a powerpoint to an audience or present a poster in which conference goers can passively take in the information and ask questions if interested.

Format of the Presentation Cluster Sessions

The format of the presentations will be a hybrid between traditional poster session and facilitated dialogue within specific cluster topics. Presenters will have a table and bulletin board to post information similar to a poster session, but also feel free to be creative and encourage conference goers to ask questions and think substantively about implementation - how we define it, how we measure it, what works, what doesn't, the intersection of organizational development, research, policy, and practice with implementation, etc. We encourage presenters to share experiences with implementation that might not otherwise be showcased at a traditional conference.
