1st Workshop on Ubiquitous Computing for Symbio-Information Processing (UCSIP)

held in conjunction with JCSSE 2011
http://www.jcsse.org/
May 12th, 2011
Nakhon Pathom, Thailand

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Recent advances in mobile devices and embedded computer technologies have cut our way towards the upsurge of ubiquitous computing. These technologies are definitely leading us to provide computing and communication services anytime, anywhere transparently and invisibly to any users.

In our circumstances, we have been forced to live together among human beings, nature and science & technology for continuous co-prosperity. In the era of information explosion, in order to realize symbio information society, implementation of information technologies, which support intellectual activities of human beings effectively, is still indispensable.

In this workshop, we focus on issues of embedded hardware/software architecture, wireless network architecture, mobile technologies, devices or technologies for user interface, cognitive environments, applications and services with such technologies and other related topics on ubiquitous computing for symbio-information processing. This workshop welcomes paper submissions about state-of-the-art research papers, technical reports, dissertation etc. for these interdisciplinary areas.

Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

Computer Hardware
Embedded Hardware
Parallel Computing
Information Systems
Computer Communications and Networks
Computer Networks with Ad Hoc Networks and Optical
Web Semantics
Image and Vision Computing
Computer Imaging, Graphics & Vision Medical Image Analysis
Artificial Intelligence
Database Management & Info Retrieval
Knowledge-Based Systems
Decision Support Systems
Computers in Biology and Medicine
Digital Signal Processing
Biometric Technology
Robotics and Autonomous Systems
Simulation Modeling Practice and Theory
User Interface, HCI & Ergonomics
General Computer Science
Miscellaneous

The workshop also aims at providing a forum for researchers and engineers from academia and industry, as well as work-in-progress papers or case studies related to the issues.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

People who would like to participate in this event are invited to submit a paper (or an extended abstract) to the workshop general chair via email ucsip-AT-cc.tuat.ac.jp . Submitted papers should follow the IEEE conference format and must not exceed 6 pages in length. Papers must be submitted in PDF format. Papers that are excessively long may be rejected without review.

Short papers about 2-3 pages for "work-in-progress" research are also welcome. In that case, please indicate that in your submitting mail.

All accepted papers will be published and included in the proceedings of JCSSE'11.
