Topics/Call fo Papers

We are pleased to announce OMNIVIS'2009, the Ninth Workshop on Omnidirectional Vision, Camera Networks and Non-classical Cameras, to be held on October 4th in conjunction with ICCV2009 in Kyoto, Japan. The OMNIVIS'2009 Workshop continues a series of workshops started in 2000. The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers interested in camera networks and omnidirectional vision including novel imaging and projection systems and catadioptric systems. Contributions are sought on new and original research on any aspect of omnidirectional vision and camera networks, including novel sensor design, panoramic vision applications, and scalable algorithms for large-scale camera networks. All papers will be subject to a double-blind review process which will be carried out by a Program Committee of leading international researchers.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

Omnidirectional cameras
structure-from-motion
visual servoing
image processing
applications
Non-classical sensors
algorithms and calibration
novel, application-tailored designs
Large- (>1000) and medium-scale (10-1000) camera networks
decentralized algorithms robust to node failures
continuous calibration, e.g., of non-stationary camera networks
camera deployment and distributed calibration applications: surveillance, tele-immersion, intelligent environments
We are planning to have a special issue of journal associate with OMNIVIS2009. The invitation to submit to the special issue will be announced after the workshop.

Important Dates:

Paper submission due: May 1, 2009
Reviews due: June 10, 2009
Notification of acceptance: June 30, 2009
Camera ready due: July 15, 2009
Workshop date: October 4, 2009

The workshop proceedings will be included in the ICCV main conference DVD. The guidelines and template for paper will appear here soon.

Double blind review:

The review process is double blind: Authors do not know the names of the reviewers of their paper, and reviewers do not know the names of the authors. Author must conceal their identity in the submitted paper for review.

Dual submission policy:

Dual submissions with ICCV main conference are allowed, with the understandings that if the paper gets accepted to ICCV, it will automatically be withdrawn from OMNIVIS. Dual submissions with ICCV must be clearly identified as such in and additional cover pages with the ICCV paper number. If you have revised some part of the paper from ICCV submission, you should also include a list of changes in the cover pages.
