Following the success of the first International Conference on Rehabilitation and Maintenance in Civil Engineering (ICRMCE) held in 2009, it has been decided to reconvene the meeting which is scheduled on March 8 to 10, 2012. The 2nd ICRMCE will take place in Solo-a cultural and heritage city of Java- and be organized by Civil Engineering Department and Post Graduate Program, the University of Sebelas Maret, Indonesia and supported by Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) and Deakin University (Australia). The theme of this 2nd conference is “Innovative Rehabilitation and Maintenance for Sustainable Construction”. This theme covers the following topics:

* Building and infrastructure rehabilitation

* Building and infrastructure maintenance

* Special experiences on building and infrastructure rehabilitation and maintenance

* Advanced technology on building and infrastructure rehabilitation technique

* Structural health monitoring system

* Assessment of building and infrastructure performance

* Assessment of building and infrastructure performance related to natural hazard (e.g. earthquake, flooding, landslides, fire etc.)

* Smart material for building and infrastructure repair

* Building and infrastructure damage assessment

* Building and infrastructure maintenance strategy

* Execution, supervision and control of maintenance and repair strategy

* Testing and inspection

* Restoration, preservation, rehabilitation and maintenance of historic building

* Digital processing for historic building rehabilitation and maintenance

* Management on building and infrastructure maintenance

* Building and infrastructure service life modeling

* Building and infrastructure life cycle cost analysis

* Policy on building and infrastructure rehabilitation

* Code on building and infrastructure rehabilitation

* Code on building and infrastructure maintenance

* Etc.
It is expected that the 2nd ICRMCE will catch the attention of authors and participants from many more countries than the 1st ICRMCE.

All submitted papers will be peer reviewed. Selected papers (up to 100 papers) will be considered for possible inclusion in Procedia Engineering (Published by Elsevier Publisher), which is indexed by EI and Scopus and the conference is also considered for inclusion in the Thomson-Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index. The papers will then be available online to ScienceDirect. Authors should submit full paper by 15th of November 2011. The preferred method of abstract/paper submission is by uploading the respected materials on the conference website.
