SIV 2011 - 3rd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON VIDEODANCE (SIV)

The International Videodance Festival of Buenos Aires opens its call for papers to be presented at the 3rd International Symposium on Videodance. The meeting will be held during November 25th., 26th. and 27th., 2011, in Buenos Aires, in the frame of the Festival VideoDanzaBA (www.VideoDanzaBA.com.ar ).
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the third edition of the Symposium “Thinking Videodance”. Its main objective is to continue encouraging the dialogue and the theoretical reflection over Videodance, an art form that begins to take shape as an autonomous art at the same time it gets enriched through the exchange with other spheres of art, culture and social life.
The meeting will be held during three days in November 2011, and it will have the attendance of local and international personalities from diverse scientific fields such as Philosophy, Art History and Semiotics, as well as from artistic disciplines such as Dance, Film, Visual and Multimedia Arts. We are also convoking the artists themselves to share their reflections over this field.
During these three days there will be dissertation spaces articulated with conversations, exchange and discussion, in order to enrich each participant’s thoughts about Videodance (both lecturers and audience).
We invite proposals concerning to any subject related to research and education in Videodance.
Languages:
The languages of the Symposium lectures will be Spanish, Portuguese and English.
Regulations for abstracts:
1. Abstracts should contain no more than 250 words. They will be received until May 15th., 2011.
2. Proposals should be registered online. Please, click at “Académicas” on the left column and complete the registration form.
The Academic Exchange Committee will e-mail acceptance notification and additional program information by June 1st., 2011. The complete papers will be received between June 6th. and September 15th., 2011.

Mercosur Researcher Professors: U$S 100.-
Other countries Researcher Professors: U$S 150.-
