2019 International Conference on Surface Engineering Applications (SEA 2019) will be held in Busan, South Korea, from September 26-28, 2019! SEA 2019 is co-organized by Royal Melbourne Institue of Technology University(RMIT University), Swinburne University of Technology, The Australian National University and Hong Kong Society of Mechanical Engineers.
SEA 2019 welcomes articles in the field of Surface Engineering Applications, dealing with new developments in theory, analytical and numerical simulation and modeling, experimentation, demonstration, advanced deployment and case studies, results of laboratory or field operational tests, under the general theme of Surface Engineering Applications.
●Publication and Indexing
1. All the registered and presented papers will be published in IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering(ISSN: 1757-899X), which will be indexed by EI Compendex, Scopus, Thomson Reuters (WoS), Inspec, and other databases.
2. Selected excellent presented papers with extension will be recommended to publish in the Special Issue of Functional Materials Letters (ISSN (print): 1793-6047 | ISSN (online): 1793-7213), which will be indexed by INSPEC, Scopus, Science Citation Index Expanded and other indexing organizations.
●SEA 2019 Speaker
1. Prof. Y. Lawrence Yao, Columbia University, USA
Prof.Y. Lawrence Yao is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University, where he directs the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory. Yao served as Chair of Mechanical Engineering Department at Columbia University between 2005 and 2011. Yao has pioneered research in laser materials processing, including laser assisted removal, shaping, joining, and property modification of various materials, and innovative laser applications in renewable energy, biomedical, and art restoration fields. Yao is a Fellow of ASME, SME and Laser Institute of America and currently serves as Editor, Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering of ASME.
2. Prof. Raj Das, RMIT University, Australia
Dr Raj Das is an Associate Professor in the Aerospace and Aviation department of RMIT University, Australia. He is also an honorary academic in the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is a principal investigator of the 'Sir Lawrence Wackett Aerospace Research Centre' of RMIT University. He is an adjunct academic of the University of Quebec, Canada. He is the Deputy Chair of the 'National Committee on Applied Mechanics' of Engineers Australia.
3. Prof. Amaresh Chakrabarti, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India
Chakrabarti is a Senior Professor and current Chairman for Centre for Product Design & Manufacturing, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He has BE (Mech Engg, IIEST Shibpur), ME (Mech Design, IISc) and PhD (Engg Design, Univ of Cambridge UK). He led for 10 years the Design Synthesis group at EPSRC CoEEngg Design Centre at Univ of Cambridge. His interests are in synthesis, creativity, sustainability, and informatics. He received Careers360 Faculty Research Award 2018 for being the 'Most Outstanding Researcher' in Decision Sciences. He is the current Editor-in-Chief for AI EDAM Journal (CUP).
4. Prof. Bi Zhang, South University of Science and Technology of China, China
Bi Zhang is currently a Chair Professor and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology in China. Professor Zhang has been working on precision and ultra-precision machining and achieved notable academic attainments in machining of difficult-to-machine materials. Professor Zhang is a fellow of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP), a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and a Standing Committee Member of the Production Engineering Institution of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES).He is an author of over 200 archived papers and 13 patents.
