Welcome to 2018 3rd International Conference on Water Pollution Control Engineering (WPCE 2018). WPCE 2016 & WPCE 2017 was be successfully held in Sanya, China and Koh Samui,Thailand, respectively. WPCE 2018 is a wokshop of CEESD 2018, which is supported by Asia Pacific Institute of Science and Engineering. WPCE 2018 will take place in Penang, Malaysia from Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2018. WPCE 2018 is a not-to-be-missed opportunity that distills the most current knowledge on a rapidly advancing discipline in one conference. Prof. Gordon Huang University of Regina, Canada
Dr. Gordon Huang is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Energy and Environment, and Executive Director of the Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities at the University of Regina, Canada.Since the 1990s, Huang has led over 150 research projects, produced over 800 peer-refereed international journal papers (with an SCI-based H-index of 56 in Science Citation Index under Thomson Reuters' Web of Science).
Prof. Irene Man Chi Lo, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong
Prof. Irene M. C. Lo is currently a Chair Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and has been joining HKUST since 1992. She received her Master and PhD degrees in Civil (Environmental) Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Prof. Lo is an elected Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA). She is the first Hong Kong scholar inducted into the EASA. She is an elected Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (FHKIE), and elected Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (FASCE).
Prof. Rao Y. Surampalli, President and CEO, Global Institute for Energy, Environment, and Sustainability
Prof. Rao Y. Surampalli is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainability. He was with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) for 29 years and retired as an Engineer Director. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in EnvironmentalEngineering from Oklahoma State and Iowa State Universities, respectively. He has conducted research on fifty (50) environmental engineering topics; including on bioconversion of wastes to valueaddedproducts (e.g., biodiesel, bioplastics); occurrence, fate/transport and removalof emerging contaminants (e.g., pharmaceuticals and endocrine disrupting chemicals) in the environment; water and wastewatertreatment; wastewater reuse and resource recovery; solid and hazardous waste management; environmental toxicity and risk ofnanomaterials; bioremediation of contaminated sites and groundwater; and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Prof. Baolin Deng, Southern University of Science and Technology, China
Dr. Baolin Deng is Chair Professor in Environmental Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology. He is currently on leave from the University of Missouri where he is LaPierre Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. Deng’s research concerns with drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment and reuse, membrane fabrication and application, and important environmental process kinetics and mechanisms relevant to contaminated site remediation. He has been PI/co-PI for over three dozen research projects including the CAREER award from the National Science Foundation. He published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters with >5000 citation and H-index 38 (Google Scholar). Deng has served on the EPA Science Advisory Board Drinking Water Committee, and is the Asian Regional Editor for Environmental Engineering Science.
