Topics/Call fo Papers

The focus of this special issue is on engineering and science of the Web with emphasize on data and information computing.
We welcome contributions, which designs semantic, personalized and adaptive Web applications based on research to improve the understanding of people's behaviors, interests, motivations and hence actions on the Web. Our special issue includes topics of harvesting, integrating, transforming, analyzing, retrieving, storing, indexing and analyzing Web data at Web scale, with considering the special properties of Web data like semi-structured, semantic and linked data.
The Web is often used as portal to services using technologies in the area of Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Fog and Dew Computing. All these Computing paradigms are able to process large-scale data or are inherently and continuously producing large amounts of data with high velocity. Hence our special issue deals also with these and other emergent Computing paradigms, which are promising to offer a new dimension for applications in relevant disciplines like information retrieval, Web science, Web engineering, Web data management, and crowdsourcing.
