Guest Editors: Tirthankar Roy, London School of Economics, United Kingdom and Chinmay Tumbe, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, India
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics invites submissions for a Special Issue forthcoming in July 2018, on Migration: Change and Continuity, with reference to internal migration in South Asia or cross-border migration within South Asia.
For the Special Issue, the guest editors would specifically welcome submissions that apply a historical perspective to contemporary patterns of migration. Such themes as inter-generational mobility, gender, class and caste specificity, and migration persistence are of interest. Papers can focus on any of the larger countries in South Asia. Focus on certain regions known for a history of migration such as Ratnagiri, Ganjam, Azamgarh, Garhwal, or Sivaganga in India, Mirpur in Pakistan, Sylhet in Bangladesh or similar regions in South Asia would be encouraged.
Please submit your abstract not exceeding 1000 words before March 1, 2017 at https://peerreview.sagepub.com/jie. While submitting the abstract proposal, please select the ‘Migration Special Issue’ manuscript type. While uploading files, please designate the abstract proposal as your ‘main document’ and upload a separate ‘title page’ since these file designations are mandatory for all submissions.
After the review and acceptance of proposals, full papers not exceeding 8000 words are to be submitted by September 1, 2017. The papers will be refereed as per the standard reviewing process of the journal.
