The Office of Strategic Health Initiatives (SHI) at the American University of Beirut is organizing a Forum entitled “Rebuilding Health Post-Conflict: A Dialogue for the Future”. The Forum aims at creating a scientific and practical platform in which stakeholders in the different fields within/related to health start the path of actively assessing rebuilding needs and coordination of efforts.
The Scientific Committee of the Forum is issuing a call for abstracts on scholarly work that is related to health in conflicts, with an emphasis on generating evidence and recommendations for the post-conflict period. All abstracts will be peer reviewed for quality of research and scientific content. Accepted abstracts will be presented in two poster sessions that are held as part of the Forum events.
Eligible abstracts include original research in/or related to the following tracks:
?Health system rebuilding
?Health care planning and provision
?Food security
?Social entrepreneurship
?Technology in health (including biomedical)
?Health care service models
?Health care engineering and infrastructure
?Sustainable development goals
?Health challenges for refugees during and post-conflict
?Conflict medicine
? Health and medical education systems
Accepted abstracts will be scheduled as posters display on December 8, 2016 from 1:30 to 3:00 and December 9, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:30. Accepted posters will be set up in a special hall where the required size of the poster should not exceed 130x100 cm.
Abstract Submission and Deadlines
Deadline for submission of abstract is Thursday, September 15, 2016. Accepted submission will be notified by October 1, 2016.
