Topics/Call fo Papers

BPMDS solicits papers related to Business Process Modeling, Development, and Support (BPMDS) in general, using quality as a main selection criterion. As a working conference, we would like to attract full papers describing mature research, but we still give place to industrial reports and visionary idea papers.
To encourage new and emerging challenges and research directions in the area of business process modeling, development, and support, we have a unique focus theme every year. Papers submitted as idea papers will be required to be of relevance to the focus theme, thus providing a mass of new ideas around a relatively narrow but emerging research area. Full research papers and experience reports are not required to be directly connected to this theme (they still need to be explicitly relevant to BPMDS though). The focus theme for BPMDS'16 idea papers is:
Business Processes in a Connected World
Business processes are part of an increasingly connected world. Persons are connected permanently and are able to participate in business processes. Objects are becoming connected too. They are not only the object of business processes but increasingly influence the execution of business processes. Numerous data sources are accessible from business processes and influence them.
For the 17th edition of the BPMDS conference, we invite the interested authors to engage, through their idea papers and the discussions during the two days of BPMDS’2016 in Ljubljana, in a deep discussion with all participants about business processes are modeled, developed and supported in a connected world.
We also welcome research papers that include ideas on how theoretical results discussed can be used in practice, as well as experience reports on using theories in practice. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
