The purpose of this session is of collect works developed using the first principle of the quantum mechanics and oriented to the applications in different areas. Today, the solution of the Schroedinger equation does not
represent only the quantum description of atoms and molecules. Quantum mechanics, jointly with suitable computational strategies, is also an important tool that allows to design molecular structures with specific purposes.
For example, strategic areas of research, like biology, quantum computation, and nano-structured materials, are strongly dependent from theoretical studies.
