The Geoinformatics conference series was initiated by the International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Sciences (CPGIS) in 1992. This international conference series has provided a unique forum for exchanging novel ideas and cutting-edge knowledge on geographic information sciences and technologies among GIS professionals worldwide. The 23th International Conference on Geoinformatics (Geoinformatics 2015) will be held on June 19-21, 2015 at the China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, Hubei (China). The conference is co-organized by CPGIS and the China University of Geosciences (CUG),
The theme of Geoinformatics 2015 is GIS for Geography, Geosciences, and Environmental Sciences. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for researchers, professionals and students in Geoinformatics to exchange innovative ideas, demonstrate cutting-edge technologies, and present inspiring applications. The conference program will include plenaries, featured, oral, and poster sessions. We welcome papers on all aspects of GIS methodologies, theories and applications in a wide range of fields and research areas, including geosciences, geography, geographical sciences, resource and environmental sciences, public health, urban planning, land use and land cover change, transportation science, demographic studies, regional studies, criminal justice, environmental hazards, and emergency response.

Publications
An author can choose to submit either an extended abstract or a full paper (but not both). The length of an extended abstract is 800-1000 words in English. Authors of accepted extended abstracts and full papers will be invited to give oral or poster presentations at the conference. Priority will be given to submissions with concrete research results. Decisions about whether a submission is accepted or not will be based on rigorous peer review. Detailed instructions for authors and templates for preparing extended abstracts and full papers will be available soon.
Accepted full papers will be included in the digital IEEE conference proceedings. A publication fee of $200 will be charged to each accepted full paper that will be included in the IEEE proceedings. Please note that the conference registration fee does not include this publication fee, and only accepted full papers to be included in the proceedings will be charged the publication fee. The digital IEEE proceedings will be available online about a couple of months after the conference.
Selected papers may also be invited for a special issue of an international journal. The submission system of the conference will soon be opened to accept online submissions.
