Topics/Call fo Papers

Cloud computing allows services to be hosted in data centers and can be remotely accessed by applications running on a mobile device. This architecture works well for many mobile applications, but is problematic for applications that are sensitive to network latency (e.g., augmented reality and video streaming). This architecture is also unsuitable for the Internet of Things (IOT) where sensors and actuators are embedded in physical objects that are linked to the Internet through wired and wireless networks. Sensors produce huge volumes of data and may be used in applications that span over a large geographical region and must react quickly in response to specific events. Potential applications include smart cities, smart buildings, healthcare, industrial control, intelligent transportation, emergency response and environmental monitoring. ManFog 2015 aims at providing an international forum for researchers to discuss and address management challenges.
List of topics include, but are not limited to:
Orchestration of resource allocation among fog nodes, networks and clouds
Trust, security and privacy
Mobile sensing: paradigms and techniques
Localization mechanisms and algorithms
Computation offloading: strategies and techniques
Managing data flows among fog nodes and clouds
Fog nodes and sensor management
