Special Session on Cognitive-based Text Understanding and Web Wisdom (CTUW'13)
July 16-18, 2013, New York City, USA
http://iic.shu.edu.cn/huiyi/CTUW5thCFP.html
in conjunction with
12th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics & Cognitive Computing (ICCI*CC 2013)
http://www.ucalgary.ca/icci_cc/ICCICC2013
Recent years, many new theories and technologies for Web Wisdom have made the Web much wiser. Among these technologies, Cognitive-based text understanding (CTU) is one of the newest directions of Web Wisdom and should be paid more attention to. The machine understanding of Web resources is the basis of Web Wisdom. Cognitive Informatics is an emerging discipline that studies the natural intelligence, internal information processing mechanisms of the brain and the processes involved in perception and cognition as well. CTU simulates the cognitive process of human brain understanding text, so it takes advantage of cognitive theories to make the machine understanding of Web resources effectively and promotes Web Wisdom to a great extent.
Topics:
The objective of the workshop is to invite authors to submit original manuscripts that demonstrate and explore current advances in all aspects of Web Wisdom (especially the aspect of Cognitive-based text understanding). The workshop solicits novel papers on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
* Text Mining and Semantic Organization;
* Cognitive-based Text Understanding;
* Cognitive-based Text Complexity and Readability Measurement;
* Cognitive-based Textual Knowledge Trust Measurement;
* Theories and Practices of Wisdom Web;
* Cognitive Models and Computational Models for Web Wisdom;
* Intelligent Web Searching and Services;
* Web Knowledge Services and Fusion;
* Data Link and Semantic Link for Web Wisdom;
* Web Mining and Information Retrieval for Web Wisdom;
* Web Knowledge Organization and Fusion for Web Wisdom;
* Web-based Cooperation Model for Web Wisdom;
Submission Requirements:
Please email your manuscripts in PDF to xwei-AT-shu.edu.cn with the email subject as “CTUW13 paper submission”. Full papers should be around 6-8 pages in length in IEEE double column format as posted in the web site. Short papers (4-5 pages) that report industrial experience, case studies, work in progress, or graduate students’ research may also be considered. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by an international panel.
Publication of Papers:
All accepted papers will be included in the proceedings of ICCI*CC’13 which will be published by IEEE CS Press and indexed by EI and DBLP. Selected papers will be published in International Journal of Cognitive Informatics and Natural Intelligence (IJCINI), International Journal of Software Science and Computational Intelligence (IJSSCI), and others.
Important Dates:
Full paper submission due: February 28, 2013
Notification of acceptance: March 31, 2013
Camera-ready paper due: April 30, 2013
