Date2012-11-07 - 2012-11-09

VenueQueensland, Australia Australia

Topics/Call fo Papers

Are you teaching with vision? Are you a visionary teacher? Here’s a chance for you to share your great teaching and learning activities and inspire other educators. Submit your proposal by 30 June 2012 by using the form below.

All sessions are 25 minutes. A limited number of presentations will be virtual – if you have access to high quality video conferencing you can indicate this on the submission form.

The theme for 2012 is Link and Learn.

We have a number of interesting streams this year:

Mix it up: Tell us how you’re mixing and matching various technologies and learning activities.
Learning spaces: If you’ve thrown out the desks, let us know what your learning spaces look like and how students use them.
Edgy escapades: For those who are really on the cutting edge – excite and inspire us!
Virtual excursions: If you’re a museum, art gallery or any type of organisation providing education programs via video conference, share your experiences with others who are both new and experienced.
Let’s get technical: For technicians and any interested educators to share how they manage what makes it all work.
This conference is always infused with practical ideas that are easy to implement when delegates return to their everyday teaching. We’re asking you to share your experience and advice with educators who come from all sectors: K-12, VET and Universities. This is not a research conference so papers are not refereed. If you have a great teaching and learning story that fits into one of the steams above, please complete the submission form.

Discount for Presenters

All presenters will be given a discounted registration fee. While we welcome joint presentations, experience has shown that having no more than two presenters at a time is most effective. On this basis, we encourage single presenters by offering a discount conference fee of $395. Second presenters will be given the Super Early Bird discount rate of $595. If you submit a proposal and are unsuccessful, we’ll offer you the Super Early Bird discount rate to attend as a delegate. There is no fee to present virtually.

Presentation Details

Your presentations should address:

demographics of your learners (this could be you if it was a professional development project)
objective of your learning project
technologies used to enable and support your learners
outcomes/results of the learning
what made the project successful
Presentation Time
25 minutes – including Q&A.

Selection Criteria
Case studies will be chosen by popular vote from your peers. We’ll be listing all submissions on the conference Facebook page and those with the most ‘likes’ will make the program.

You will be notified of your acceptance by 31 July.
You will be expected to register & pay ($395 for 1 presenter, $595 for each additional presenter) by 31 August. There is no fee for virtual presenters.

You may submit a traditional paper which will be made available for download via the conference website or you may choose to use a wiki, blog or some other form of web presentation. Preferably you will include some form of visual communication in your ‘paper’. This is due by 10 October.
