IF&GIS 2013 - 6th International Workshop on Information Fusion and Geographic Information Systems: Environmental and Urban Challenges
Topics/Call fo Papers
Workshop will consider Geographic Information Systems’ science and technologies in relation with Environmental and Urban Challenges. In this context we also expect discussion specifically focused on environmental issues, from global to local scales.
Workshop encourages presentation of scientific and technological innovations as well as application opportunities aimed at having environmental and global warming problems under control, as well as the monitoring, planning and simulation to sustain maritime presence in the Arctic. Also we expect to discuss traditional problems about heterogeneous data, information and knowledge arriving from different sources and accounting for geographic information systems’ area aimed at realizing decision-making in monitoring systems of heterogeneous purpose and level.
The proposed scope
GIS fundamentals (to the left); GIS application to urban and environmental challenges (to the right) include but are not limited to:
GIS Fundamentals Scientific scope
GIS ontologies
GIS data integration
GIS data modeling
GIS data analysis
GIS data fusion
Artificial Intelligence and GIS
GIS and real-time monitoring systems
GIS algorithms and computational issues
GIS simulation
Data Security and GIS
Novel and emerging GIS research areas
Environmental management
Land-based planning
Landscape studies
GIS for global warming modeling
Urban GIS
Transportation GIS
Marine and Coastal GIS for the Arctic Sea
Intelligent GIS (IGIS) Monitoring Systems for Weather / Environmental forecasting
GIS Applications to platform operations in cold weather
GIS modeling for a better Understanding of Arctic Challenges and improvement of weather forecasting
Workshop Venue
According to the preliminary agreement, the IF&GIS’2013 Workshop will be held in the historical building: "Palace of Grand Prince Vladimir Romanov", currently "House of Scientists", located in the heart of St. Petersburg, to the address: 26, Dvortsovaya emb., St. Petersburg, 191186, Russia. Workshop Language: English
IF&GIS program includes: (To be confirmed) - Tutorials; -Exhibitions; - Workshop; - Discussions; - Guided tours and other social events.
Paper publication: the Workshop Proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in series Lecture Notes in Geoinformation and Cartography. IF&GIS workshop offers a peer-review procedure for scientific papers.
Abstract: The abstract should summarize the contents of the paper and contain at least 70 and at most 150 words. It should be written using the abstract environment by EasyChair Conference System. Key words: Please list your keywords within the abstract section.
