In its fifth year, Kaleidoscope 2013 "Building Sustainable Communities" will highlight multidisciplinary aspects of future Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), including future services and applications demand as well as socio-economic, cultural, ethical, legal, and sustainable development policy aspects of communities of the future. A prize fund totalling $10,000 will be awarded to the three best papers.

Kaleidoscope, led by the UN agency for ICTs, ITU, is the essential forum for sharing knowledge, strengthening the dialogue with universities and R&D institutions, fostering networking and cooperation in both industrialized and developing countries, identifying emerging developments in ICTs, and has an excellent track record for fostering innovation and identifying solutions outside the box.

Kaleidoscope 2013 will see the participation of renowned ICTs experts, university leaders, academics, policymakers and practitioners from all over the world, to address innovative proposals and ideas, as well as the results of their latest researches.
