IT REVOLUTIONS 2012 - 4th International ICST Conference IT Revolutions
Topics/Call fo Papers
The IT Revolutions conference series was created by ICST and a number of universities worldwide. It is an annual place to present new research results, new ideas, work in progress but also to find new partners for new projects. The conference is designed to be a place for scientific discussions that cross the usual borders between research fields to find new synergies and viewpoints. IT revolutions aims to be a place for new international cooperations. Conference venue changes every year for this reason.
IT Revolutions 2012 in Berlin is the forth IT Revolutions in the row. It takes place in Berlin / Germany. The conference shall be a place for a broad range of topics.
Nevertheless, the special (but not limiting focus) of the 2012 conference are smart mobile networks. Last year, more mobile phones are sold worldwide than PCs. In Europe, more Laptops are sold than PCs. Tablets have tremendously increased usage of mobile services.
We have new applications and technical issues to think over but also threads? What happens if billions of users are entering the mobile Internet? Does cloud computing help in that case? Are P2P approaches useful or can cloud and P2P even be merged? Do we need better hardware for an energy efficient routing of data? How can Ad-hoc networks help in our mobile world? Neverthess, information technology needs energy. Energy grids underway a fundamental change as well, e.g. due to the increasing use of renewable energy. IT needs energy and energy grids needs IT.
Conference venue is the Ellington hotel in the heart of Berlin.
Full, short and work-in-progress paper are welcome.
