Topics/Call fo Papers

The recent demand for high performance techniques has led to the adaptation of GPUs for various computer vision algorithms. Many computer vision algorithms are well-suited for processing on the GPU due to the match of the data-parallel computations to many operations on images.

Parallel computing environments such as CUDA and the OpenCL standard have the potential to accelerate the use of GPUs in many areas for more general purpose computing, including Computer vision.

This workshop aims to present the latest advances in the use of GPUs for Computer Vision applications.

This topic is interesting for the Computer Vision community as it allows handling a significant bottleneck that this community has to deal with: the enormous flow of data that results from constantly higher resolution sensor on one hand, and advanced algorithms on the other hand.

GPUs are enabling technology and their use in computer vision applications opens up a whole set of possibilities that cannot be feasible without GPUs.
