The 2011 International Conference on Business Computing and Global Informatization (BCGIn 2011) will bring together researchers, educators, and business practitioners in the areas of business computing and global informatization to exchange ideas and explore innovations. The goal of the conference is to advance and promote new business computing technologies, methodologies, and practices in the age of global informatization.
BCGIn 2011 will have invited keynote lectures and contributed presentations to report on the latest developments and future expectations in business computing and global informatization.

Any contributions related to business computing and global information are welcome. In particular, the topics of BCGIn 2011 will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Additional co-sponsors are Southwest Petroleum University, China, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. It will be held in Shanghai, China, on July 29-31, 2011. The conference hotel is to be determined.
How to Contribute

Please prepare your research paper of no more than 4 pages in CPS conference proceedings paper format. For paper submission, please use the Microsoft Academic Conference Management Service at BCGIn2011 (https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/BCGIN2011/) to submit your papers. A paper should be submitted as a single PDF file. The CPS manuscript templates for conference proceedings can be downloaded from here. Please use the US Letter template. The WORD file can be directly downloaded HERE.
Submitted papers should be in English and contain unpublished contributions to business computing and global informatization. Please note that we only accept a paper for peer review with the understanding that the paper has not been published elsewhere and has not been submitted for consideration of publication elsewhere.

The deadline for submitting a paper for consideration was March 31, 2011, (extended to April 30, 2011)
The notification for accepting or declining a paper is sent out by April 30, 2011, (extended to May 1, 2011).
The deadline for the submission of camera ready papers for publishing in the proceedings is May 15, 2011 (extended to June 1, 2011).
The registration fee must be received by the organizers by May 15, 2011, in order for the paper to be included in the conference proceedings.
Students who wish their papers to be considered for the BCGIn 2011 Best Student Paper Awards should indicate that the main author(s) of the paper is(are) graduate students (see Best Student Papers for details).

The paper should be in English and contain unpublished contributions to computational and information sciences. Submitted paper should have not been published elsewhere and should not be submitted for publication elsewhere simultaneously.

Invitation Letter for Visa Application

For people who need an official invitation letter from the Chair of the Local Organizing Committee in China for the purpose of applying for a Chinese entry visa, please contact the conference co-chairs. Please provide him with your name, full address, fax number, paper number, and paper title.

Presentations

Presentation of an accepted paper can be either in an oral format or in a poster format. The authors will notify the conference Chairs the preferred formats of their presentations. It is expected that all accepted and published papers will be presented in one of the formats, to allow interactions between the authors and the audience.
Authors who prefer to present their papers in a poster session should notify Dr. Jun Zhang, after the submission of the final version and before June 1, 2011, if not earlier.

Publications

All accepted papers will be published by CPS in the CPS conference proceedings (pending approval). All the published papers will be included in IEEE Xplore. Content will be submitted to the indexing companies for possible indexing (EI Compendex and ISTP).  Indexing services are independent organizations, and we  cannot guarantee that any particular abstract or index entry will be included in Ei Compendex or any other indexing service. The proceedings in CD will be available to the attendees during the conference. After the conference, selected papers will be considered for publication as special issues in several journals. Guest editors and suggested journals are welcome. Those papers will go through the standard rigorous refereeing procedure established by the individual journals. Additional page charges by the journals are the responsibility of the authors.

For preparing final version of your paper using CPS conference proceedings format, instructions will be given later.
Venue and Accommodations

The conference venue will be held on the campus of the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, Songjiang, Shanghai, China, on July 29-31, 2011. Hotels for accommodation with conference discount will be announced later.
Registrations

Authors with accepted papers will be asked to pre-register for the conference in order for their papers to be included in the conference proceedings.
Details on where to upload the accepted papers and to pay the registration fees will be provided once the information becomes available.

The registration fee for one paper up to 4 pages is $USD400 (or equivalently RMB2700). Each additional page will cost $USD100. We strongly encourage authors to limit their papers to 4 pages. Longer papers can be considered for possible journal publications after the conference.

For people arriving from overseas, the airport that you will eventually arrive at is Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG).
The train, the Shanghai Railway Station is located in the center part of Shanghai.

Best Student Papers and Student Support

Excellent papers whose main authors are graduate students will be judged and selected by the Student Paper Award Subcommittee of the Technical Program Committee for their scientific merits. Up to five (5) best student papers may be selected for the BCGIn Student Paper Awards.
After the final submission of the papers, the student author should ask his/her advisor to send an e-mail to Dr. Jun Zhang (jzhang-AT-cs.uky.edu) stating that the student author is a full-time student and is the major contributor of the paper. The advisor should also comment on the merits of the paper.

The winners of the BCGIn Student Paper Awards will be presented with award certificates and a certain amount of cash at the conference. (The winners must attend the conference and present the papers in person.)

A limited numer of free hotel rooms will be provided to students who will present their papers at BCGIn2011 conference. These rooms will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Shanghai is the largest city in China, and one of the largest cities in the world. It is one of the most rapidly developing and most dynamic cities in China. Here gives a few bird-eye looks at Shanghai.
