Topics/Call fo Papers

Smart grid” concerns the modernization of electric grids to more efficient generation, transmission, distribution and usage of energy. In this regard, it is anticipated that many off-the-shelf and commercial communication technologies, ranging from embedded sensing, wireless communications, pervasive computing, adaptive control, smart phones and many others, will have direct applicability to smart grid. However, allowing greater efficiency, reliability, resilience, sustainability, security, and stability of the traditional electrical grids still poses a number of challenges. The workshop “Smart Grid Communications & Security” is devoted to the recent progress on the advanced communications and information security technologies for the smart grids and their potential application to the smart grid.
Topics of Interest
Possible topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Architecture and protocol design for smart grid communication systems
Performance analysis and improvement for smart grid communication systems
Communication technologies and infrastructures for smart grid communication systems
Demand response management and dynamic pricing in smart grid
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technologies for smart grids
Microgrid technologies and solutions for smart grids
Security problems and countermeasures in smart grids
Privacy protection in smart grids
Standards and regulations in smart grids
Field tests and practices of smart grids
Network control for Smart grids
Sensors data fusion and mining models of smart grids
Submission Instructions
This workshop accepts only previously unpublished papers in the area of smart grid communications and information security technologies. Prospective Authors are encouraged to submit a 6-page IEEE conference style paper (including all text, figures, and references) through submission system. https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sgcs20... All accepted and presented papers will be published together with by IEEE Computer Society MSN 2013 proceedings and available on IEEE eXplore database and indexed by Engineering Information (EI).
