Topics/Call fo Papers

The complexity of modern systems is growing exponentially because of the increasing number of interacting and competing components involved. This makes the entire system too cumbersome to be treated in a centralized way. The best option to deal with such a system is to decompose it into a number of sub-systems and treat it as a collection of sub-systems or a Multi-Agent System (MAS). The major challenge is to make these agents work in a coordinated way, optimizing their local goals and contributing the maximum towards optimization of the global system objective. This session at HIS 2012 aims to provide an international forum for exchanging scientific ideas among scientists and engineers working/interested in the field of MASs in Optimization. We welcome both theoretical and application oriented papers on MAS approaches relevant to Agent Simulations, Collective Intelligence, Distributed Optimization, Evolutionary Computation, Nature Inspired Approaches, Reinforcement Learning, Computational Learning Theory, Swarm Intelligence, etc.
Session outline
With a successful session we expect approximately 8 to 10 papers.
Specific topics of interest
Theoretical approaches and/or applications including but not limited to the following topics :
Agent Simulations
Collective Intelligence
Distributed Optimization
Evolutionary Computation
Nature Inspired Approaches
Reinforcement Learning
Computational Learning Theory
Collective action coordination
Swarm Intelligence
